We’re shifting political culture toward building power from the ground up, resourcing down ballot leaders fighting for everyday working people, and growing an ecosystem of organizations across the country.

Trickle-down politics doesn’t work. We need a new politics, one with a ‘down ballot strategy,’ at scale, where we engage in trickle-up powerbuilding. Grounding us in the needs of everyday people, uplifting communities, and building infrastructure that supports candidates at every level of government.

why local democracy project?

Did you know there are over 100,000 local elected offices across the United States?

For decades, Republicans have invested heavily in winning many of these seats, creating what we call the "Barry Goldwater Effect." Our goal is to reverse that trend by supporting and expanding local powerbuilding organizations—both by strengthening existing efforts and creating new ones in underrepresented regions.
